Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Nova Kakhovka plan to issue bonds in 2005


During the round table "The Creation of a Rating System in Ukraine" in Kyiv on Tuesday, State Securities and Stock Market Commission member Mykola Burmaka said that Kharkiv and Zaporizhia are planning to issue municipal bonds worth UAH 100 million each in the second quarter. Burmaka added that Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Nova Kakhovka are currently carrying out preparatory work on issues, but he did not name the possible volumes for their bond issues.


KYIV, May 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) –Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and also district center Nova Kakhovka in Kherson region are planning to issue bonds in 2005, State Securities and Stock Market Commission member Mykola Burmaka has said.

During the round table "The Creation of a Rating System in Ukraine" in Kyiv on Tuesday, he said that Kharkiv and Zaporizhia are planning to issue municipal bonds worth UAH 100 million each in the second quarter.

Burmaka added that Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Nova Kakhovka are currently carrying out preparatory work on issues, but he did not name the possible volumes for their bond issues.

The SSSMC member noted that stepping up of municipal bond issuing activity in 2005 is linked with "the political factor" and a possibility to solve "questions of the social and economic development before the 2006 elections" using such instruments.
