Among European countries, Latvia and Ukraine outpaced Russia in terms of inflation in January-July, seeing an inflation rate of 9.6 percent and 14.9 percent respectively, Russia's Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported today. Meanwhile, Russia's inflation stood at 9.3 percent over the first seven months of 2008. In July, Malta saw the highest inflation rate in Europe (1.9 percent), followed by Bulgaria (1.4 percent), while Russia's inflation reached 0.5 percent.
