Kyrgyz Economy and Finance Ministry presented a report on shadow economy in the republic. At the presentation held on December 15, it was announced that share of shadow economy in Kyrgyzstan is close to indices of the transient economies in the Central Asian region and at present moment it totals 53% of the GDP, or 60 bln soms.
To establish equal economic and legal conditions for business and pursue an effective economic policy, a draft program for legalizing shadow economy was elaborated. As press office of the Kyrgyz Economy and Finance Ministry informs, for successful fight with shadow economy it is necessary to “provide consequent and full-fledged implementation of administrative, financial and economic measures aimed at, first of all, eradication of causes and factors that give rise to shadow economy.”
MPs, presidential administration staff, prime minister’s secretariat officials, representatives of ministries, agencies, business associations, private sector and donation organizations took part in the event.
