Joint stock mortgage bank "AKIBANK" (an open joint stock company) was registered by the Central Bank of Russian Federation on 25 November 1993. AKIBANK was established to develop mortgage loan business in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny. The banks major shareholders are Tatenergo, KamAZ Trade-and-Finance Company with 11.82% stake, ASCO Insurance Company with 19.99%, ACCA with 5.12%, Kamskiye Avtomobili with 7.32%, Setevaya Kompania (Network Company) with 6.11%, Generating Company with 10.11%, and SviazInvest with 7.46%.
