For the fourth consecutive year ING Bank (Eurasia) ZAO has been named “Commended Custodian” in Russia in a survey done by Global Custodian magazine. 17th Global Custodian survey of agent banks in the emerging markets is a milestone survey for the securities services industry in Russia. This award once again confirms ING’s leading positions in securities services in Russia.
ING Bank (Eurasia) has always been one of the most prominent custodians in Russia offering a comprehensive range of custody services. Currently, it is by far the largest custodian with over $112 bn of assets under custody (as of March 31, 2006) which services more than 500 foreign and domestic clients. The clientele of ING Bank (Eurasia) consists of most Global Custodians and world wide financial institutions present in the market as well as largest local brokers and companies dealing with securities.
Global Custodian is the leading magazine covering the international securities services business. Founded in 1989, the magazine makes regularly surveys of securities services businesses. The 17th Global Custodian survey of agent banks in the emerging markets is the biggest ever, covering 61 markets. Like the major markets survey, it aims to measure perceptions of the quality of the custody, clearing and settlement services provided by banks to their clients. The total number of responses received was 4,200. After filtering the responses for authenticity, the total number qualifying for inclusion in the survey amounted to 3,681, an increase of 2.7% by comparison with 2004.
